Teresa Acevedo
dance - theater - performance
Born in Madrid, Teresa Acevedo began her studies in classical dance at the age of 7.
In 1996 she follows a professional training in modern dance, contemporary dance, modern jazz and classical dance in Madrid. She worked as a dancer, performer and teacher from 1999 to 2001.
Following these first professional experiences, she decided to continue her training abroad and obtained a grant from the Spanish Ministry of Culture to join the Choreographic Center of Charleroi Danses in Brussels in 2001, 2002 and 2003. In 2003-2004, she completed the Professional Training at the Choreographic Development Center in Toulouse / Midi-Pyrénées where she presented the Métamorphose quartet. In addition to his studies at the Toulouse CDC, she works with Soilios Collective, which brings together artists interested in improvisation as a stage form.

In 2005, she was part of ex.e.r.c.e, training at the Center Chorégraphique National de Montpellier where she created GERTI, a solo experience which outlines her work as an author-performer.
She came back to Madrid and work again as a dance teacher, at the same time as she presented her In Situ performances in several non-scenic spaces. In 2006 she created A posteriori, a video-dance project with guitarist Luis Acevedo and film director Andrea Pacheco, supported by the Choreographic Authors program of the Regional Government of Madrid.
Between 2006 and 2010 she collaborated with the Espace Pasolini in Valenciennes, being part of their creation laboratories Autour de Penthesilée in 2006, and Mishima piste 2 in 2010, project supported by CNES La Chartreuse d'Avignon. With their support, she develops and premieres her solo El Ojo Desnudo (The naked eye) during the Ligne de Corps 2007 festival.

In 2007-2008, she led a research project EDDP- Below the page with Kim Lien Desault, supported by La Mekánica - Barcelona, and Fabrik Potsdam - Germany. In September 2008, she organized Made by Myself , a meeting between artists and the public linked to performance and the living arts in the Espacio Menosuno gallery through which she collaborates with the IN-SONORA festival.
Between 2009 and 2012 she performed for the choreographer Monica Gomis, Munich, in the pieces A woman with a plan , Catching a big fish and Game of Chance , supported by the I-Camp Neus Theater - Munich, Tanz Haus - Zurich, La Porta - Barcelona, and Forum Dança- Lisbon.
In 2009, she developed Longing, a trio scenic research in collaboration with Carla Fernández and Judith Mata presented during the first edition of the NEXT Festival 2009 at the Espace Pasolini in Valenciennes. She works with Claire Payement for Entre (de) in a multimedia project around the meeting between movement and new technologies, with the support of Art Zoyd.

She was part of Transforme-La Perception at the PRCC of the Royaumont Foundation in 2009-2010 where she developed her body-sound performance project BARDO with the composer Daniel Zea, and presents aversion of it during the festival Les Instants Magnétiques 2010 in Valenciennes. She is artistic advisor for the Espace Pasolini in the programming of young artists within the framework of the cross-border festival NEXT during the 2010 and 2011 editions.

She lived in Lisbon between 2010 and 2012, where she participated in the research and creation workshop of Carlota Lagido at the EIRA33 space. During this Portuguese stay, she embarked on a personal drawing-video-performance project in intimate spaces (houses, ateliers, outdoors ...) that she calls Lo cercano y el afuera (What is near and what is outside) , without any aim of production or visibility.
Between 2013 and 2015, she was part of the artistic team of The Vulnerable Loves of Désdemone and Othello , directed by Razerka Ben-Sadia Lavant, a production of the Théâtre de Nîmes and the Théâtre des Amandiers-Nanterre in which she participates as choreographer, dancer and actress for the role of Bianca.
In April 2015 she obtained the State Diploma of Contemporary Dance Teacher at the Center National de la Danse in Paris and she participated as a performer in the project Desiring Machines by Alexandra Fournier / Cie. Point of Contact, Paris. Between 2013 and 2016 she began the creation of Makaria , a solo - triptych project hosted in residence at Vivat d'Armentières, Teatro da Voz in Lisbon, Mains d'Oeuvres in Saint-Ouen and Eclats Chorégraphiques in La Rochelle.

In 2016, she joined the Superamas collective to be part of the artistic team of Vive l'Armée !, show created at the Maison de la Culture d'Amiens and presented in various European festivals such as NEXT Festival 2016 and ImPulstanz 2018. At the same time, she starts working as a dancer performer for the choreographer Aina Alegre / Studio Fictif in the group piece Le jour de la bête, premiered in April 2017 at the Atelier de Paris - CDCN.

In September 2017, Teresa undertook a training course supported by AFDAS at CIFAP in "Organization and production of artistic and cultural projects", and she obtained her State Diploma in February 2018 with the congratulations of the jury.
Since 2018, she shares her artistic activity with production and distribution missions for different companies ( Lenio Kaklea / abd , Madeleine Fournier / ODETTA , Aina Alegre / Studio ficitf , Agata Maszkiewicz , Emmanuelle Vo-Dinh / Le Phare CCN du Havre, Superamas, Sofiane Chalal / Cie Chaabane), and ZONE - poème -. She is part of the team of happynest (support platform for artistic emergence organized by the Superamas collective in Hauts-de-France) both artistically and in terms of production and distribution.

In 2021, she returns to creation as a performer in From zero to infinity, a co-creation by choreographer Agata Maszkiewicz and Superamas which had premiere in June 2022, and she continues since then her activities as producer-touring manager for choreographic projects.
